Tasty Logo WAHMReview

My family is literally one of the biggest gummy candy fans that I have ever encountered. When my husband and I were dating gummy bears were and still to this day are favorite candy. Then my sons Jayden (who is now 6 years old) and Gavin (who is 3 years old) came along. I thought Hank (my husband) was a gummy lover….you should meet these kids! Wow! If I would let them they would sit down and munch on gummies all day long. When presented with the opportunities to review Organic Fruit Snacks and Cookies from Tasty Brand I couldn’t think of a better family to test it on.

I got home from taking my son and his friend shopping (exhausting day) to find a huge box sitting on my door step. I was super excited as I knew it was my Tasty Brand box we’ve all been waiting for. We take the box inside and open the package. Tasty brand literally sent us their entire line of gummies and cookies to try! Wow! I was blown away! I was expecting a sample or two but their whole entire line?!? How awesome is that?!?!?

Tasty Brand WAHMReview

Jayden was literally squealing with excitement as he seen package after package of gummies being lifted from the box. Inside the box contained, two larger bags of fruit gummies, citrus splash (which is coated in sugar), and super fruit flavor, three boxes (5 ct. packages) of organic smoothie, organic wild berry, and organic fruit snacks, and two boxes of cookies (5 ct. packages) vanilla stars, and organic chocolate chip stars.

Liane Weintraub and Shannan Swanson are the co-founders of Tasty Brand. They were on a mission to create wonderful tasty snacks without all the harsh ingredients for children ages 2-102! So let’s dig in a little deeper. Were they a success?

Tasty Brand Gummies WAHMReview

I looked at the larger bags of gummies and squeezed them, I thought “Wow! Citrus Splash gummy is going to be hard, it feels really hard.” Jayden and Gavin are really into the chewy, soft kind of gummies so I was worried now. I opened the package and gave the first one a test myself. I couldn’t believe it! They were so soft after feeling pretty hard in the packaging. I gave them to my sons to try and they both gobbled them. I only allowed them a few each as we were going to be testing more.

Tasty Brand Love WAHMReview

Next we tried the other gummies, each one were so soft and very juicy! My husband even said, “Wow, the peach even tastes like peach and not the nasty artificial flavoring.” That is what impressed me, my husband was impressed. So I asked Jayden, “What do you think?” He just smiled at me and said and I quote, “These are the best gummies I’ve ever had.” Guess what he’s going to be packing in his lunch box for school tomorrow?

Tasty Brand Cookies WAHMReview

So we moved on to the cookies after spending so much time devouring the gummies. The cookies come 5 packs to a box, with only 100 calories and 3 grams of sugar to a pack! This made it a lot easier to give them to the kids, only 3 grams of sugar? Nice…but did they taste good? Well according to my sources which are a 3 year old, a 6 year old, 31 year old and an empty box I would say yes absolutely!

So if you are looking for some Tasty snacks check out Liane and Shannan’s website at http://www.tastybrand.com and their Facebook pagehttp://www.facebook.com/tastybrand. There you can order their amazing snack or even find local retailers that carry them!

Robin’s Soap Shoppe – #Handmade #Skincare Products

WAHM REVIEWER- Cecily Butler

I was sent item’s to base this review on, all of my thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.

Robin’s Soap Shoppe

I have a friend in KY who when faced with the difficult decision of how to support her family decided to go back to what she knew best, soap making. Robin’s Soap Shoppe has been making cold process soap since 2002. In that time she’s made nearly 3000 bars of soap!! She makes the soaps out of her home by herself or with the help of her two teenage daughters. She’s a one woman show!! Robin is an army veteran and a single mother of 4. What makes Robin’s story more amazing is that she does this while fighting debilitating anxiety and arthritis.

Robin's Soap Shoppe

Robin’s soap Shoppe soaps are made with essential oils and fragrance oils. On top of smelling great they look beautiful too!!! I was so excited when I opened my box and found two of the most beautiful looking soaps I’d ever seen. I chose her Super Gardener soap. I love to get out and dig in the dirt and thought my hands would enjoy the pampering. I almost didn’t want to use the soap it was so pretty. It smelled amazing, clean and flowery at the same time, without being heavily perfumed or over powering.

Soap Robin's Soap Shoppe

This soap will totally change your thinking about soap. No longer will the 6 pack of cheap bar soap from the discount store work.  When you see the artwork and the time it takes to make these beautiful soaps you will never go back.

Robin sells her soaps through her Etsy shop Robin’s Soap Shoppe which I encourage you to visit and read more about her story and her journey into soap making. She also details the arduous process of making cold process soap. You can also check out her salves.

You can also follow her on facebook.  Robin’s Soap Shoppe on Facebook

Also, the pictures in this review were taken by Robin. She is an excellent photographer as well. I knew any pictures I took would not do her soaps justice.

Advocare with Jamie Dixon

WAHMReviewer – Cecily Butler

I received these products for free to base this review on. All thoughts and written words are my own.
Several months ago my friend Jamie mentioned she and her hubby were doing something called a 24 day challenge with the company called Advocare. I had heard of it before from an online friend, but did not really know anything about it.

Advocare Jamie Dixon WAHMReview 1

So I listened to Jamie talk about how she was not sure how much weight or inches she’d lost, but her clothes were fitting better. How she had gone from needing several cups of coffee to get thru the day to just one. I also started observing her. She acted like she had more energy and she was looking great. We see each other often and I could still tell by the way her clothes fit that something was working.

Advocare Jamie Dixon WAHMReview 234

So….I bit the bullet and decided to try a 24 day challenge myself. I must admit the first 10 days with the herbal cleanse day were hard, but not because I was hungry all the time or felt wiped out, but because the herbal cleanse fiber drink is kinda icky, but then I figured out to mix it with a little OJ and chug it and it wasn’t half bad.

I noticed a change in my energy level right away. I had gone from feeling like I would fall over if I didn’t take a nap every single day to being very productive and actually getting things done! Spark is the name of the energy drink they offer and it’s amazing.

I was blown away with the food plan and all I could eat. I wasn’t missing out on anything. I’ll be completely honest with you, I am a CHEATER! I cheat on every single diet/food plan or whatever, I just do. It’s who I am I guess….so yes I cheated with this too, BUT- and this is a HUGE one….my butt was getting smaller. I was losing weight and inches. I am already down a pants size (and the new pants size is already loose) I’m not sure exactly how many inches I’ve lost but I’m down nearly 10lbs.

Advocare Jamie Dixon WAHMReview 5

This company’s products are even used by professional athletes, such as Drew Breeze and Olympic Athletes. Even one of my favorite authors and all around great guys Dr. Kevin Leman uses Advocare. I was even so impressed that I decided to become a distributor. I knew I had Jamie right there to help me along the way. Any questions I had or still do have, she could answer or get the answer for me. There’s a great support system with Advocare thru other members and multiple Facebook pages and groups.

Trades of Hope ~ LoriAnn #fairtrade #ethicalstyle #ethicalbusiness

WAHMReviewer – Laura

A while back, I came across a wonderful company called “Trades of Hope.” The first thing that drew me to them was all of the cool items they had. Items I’d never seen before ranging from purses and jewelry to home décor. Once I heard the backstory, I was sold!

“Trades of Hope” sells Fair Trade products made by women need around the world. By doing this, Trades of Hope offers women a way out of some pretty dangerous situations. All over the world, women work in terrible conditions in sweatshops and are even victimized in the sex trade. They do all of this just too barely get by and feed their families. These women are mothers, daughters and sisters.

Trades of Hope” has offered them freedom from these horrible conditions by giving them an opportunity, not a hand out. These women now have a readily available way to market their hand made goods to the world. In the product line, you can find items from women in Bangladesh, Haiti, Nepal, the Philippines and many more places. All in all, “Trades of Hope” works with 15 different artisan groups that cover 4 continents!

Now that you know about the company, I’ll tell you a bit about the products. I found my products through Lori Ann. You can find her at http://www.mytradesofhope.com/loriann. For this review, Lori Ann sent me the Butterfly Bird Feeder. I love it! Just look at it hanging there! It’s beautifully crafted and perfect for any bird lover.

Trades of Hope WAHMReviews

With each product, you can find information on the artisan group that made it. What a wonderful way to connect with women around the world. Each item has a personal touch. Each item means one more meal for a mother’s children, one more day that daughter doesn’t have to work in a sweatshop. You can help these women and fill your home with beautiful products at the same time! It’s a win/win in my book!

Lap Log from Bamboosa

This week, I am going to tell you about an American-made product that you might not know you need, but I’m going to tell you… you need it. It’s a Lap Log, made in South Carolina by Bamboosa. A Lap Log is a cylindrical bean bag (buckwheat hull bag, actually), sewn into an organic cotton twill cover, which has a pocket to secure a hand-sanded repurposed wood insert that holds your iPad,Kindle, Nook, or any kind of tablet.  It rests comfortably on your lap and adjusts simply on any surface.  It is light, comfortable, even kind of cuddly.  I loved it the moment I got my hands on it.

Lap Log WAHMReview Logo

My Lap Log arrived in a nice sturdy box, and when I opened it up, I got a pleasant surprise. The Log was nicely wrapped in tissue paper with a discreet recycled paper sticker on it. Because the Lap Log comes in a variety of colours I was able to choose the one I liked the most! Would you love to see it? Okay, here it is!

Lap Log WAHMReview

The one I received for this review is called Orchid Blooms. I love the flowers, what can I say, anything with flowers in a great item in my books! Each Lap Log is around 11″ X 6″, though the dimensions may vary slightly because they are handmade. The width of the interior of the wooden insert is 0.625 inches, so anything under that will fit.

I really wanted to test the Lap Log in many different places. From the Hair salon, in the car with my kidlets , letting others try it. To the library and more. I got some awesome reviews from clients and other family members how nice it is to be “handfree” while still being able to see the screen on their lap, on their desk to the floor and coffee table. I know my own daughter wanted to “keep it “ for herself . I think I just might have to get her one for her birthday in a few months.

Lap Log WAHMReview in use

Would love to find out your opinions as well, I would love for you to go to their website http://www.thelaplog.com and tell me 2 of your favorite items , what color, or prints would you love to see in your house?

LNK Crafty Creations

WAHMReviewer – Laura

There’s a meme that’s run around the social networking scene for a while now. It says something to the effect of; “Chapstick: You’ll misplace it before the tube is empty.” Funny, right? Well, it’s funny because it’s true for most of us. I don’t know how many tubes of chapstick that I’ve bought and misplaced over the years. The amount of money is probably something to be ashamed of.

I don’t have that problem anymore! No, I didn’t swear off buying chapstick. I found LNK Crafty Creations Chapstick holders! The same day I received it in the mail, I put it on the hook I have on my purse organizer and my chapstick has had a home ever since. Even my 3 year old daughter has used my chapstick and put it right back where it belongs! Amazing!!

The chapstick holder is very well made by a stay at home mom of twins. She has been wonderful to work with. Always positive and picked just the right chapstick holder to send to me after I told her just a few details. Seriously, she picked the PERFECT color and pattern!

You can find your own chapstick holder in her shop on Facebook by clicking this link: LNK Crafty Creations shop. They are only $4, so you can afford to buy a whole bunch of them. I’m thinking these would make wonderful gifts for teachers, coaches, moms, dads, kids….. I mean, can you think of anyone that doesn’t use chapstick? I can’t think of a single person in my life that doesn’t use chapstick and with all of the choices of colors and patterns, there’s bound to be one for everyone in your life.

Not only does she carry chapstick holders. Her shop also has stationary gift sets that come with two notebooks (large and small), pen and key fob. All for only $10!! She also makes and sells key fobs for $5 and rice wrap heating pads/cold pads for only $8. Her prices are amazing and her craftsmanship is perfect!

I know that she will be on my list of places to purchase gifts from come birthdays, Christmas or any other occasion I need to find that perfect item for someone!

Yoyen Designs #handcrafteditems

WAHMReviewer – Kristina Mumma

I received these item’s to base my review on. All opinions expressed are 100% my own.

Yoyen Designs is based in San Diego, CA and specializes in handcrafted products and creative graphic designs.

logo

Yoyen Designs is based in San Diego, CA and specializes in handcrafted products and creative graphic designs. I was fortunate to be able to review both types of products – handcrafted mini book necklace as well as cute note cards. The quality of both are exceptional!

I received two different miniature book necklaces to review – Navajo and Floral. They came packaged in their own bags and mini “yoyen” tags. I can tell you that the quality was impressive and beautiful! The book is approximately 1 ½” X 1 ¾” and is hand stitched. The paper inside the book is made from 100% cotton fiber watercolor paper. You could actually write a special message within the book! The fabrics used are high quality and have complementary embellishment. The attention to detail was fabulous!

Booklet

You can view similar miniature book necklaces for purchase on their website: http://www.yoyen.co I also was able to review notecards…a weakness of mine if I’m being totally honest. I love sending notes and enjoy finding unique, high quality cards or even making my own! My love of notes makes me a bit picky I’ll admit. The cards from yoyen however exceeded even my pickiest expectations! The paper is exceptional quality – it is a heavy premium paper. The designs were fun yet classy.

I honestly don’t know which was my favorite – the cute little birdie or the bike… What do you think?

cards

Envelopes were included and the olive green color was the perfect accent to the red and golden yellow of the cards. The envelopes are 100% recycled, 30% post consumer, made with 100% hydro power and acid free. Whether you are looking for high quality note cards, unique jewelry or other handmade gifts I highly recommend yoyen.

Starbright Baby – #Toys for #Toddlers

WAHMReviewer – Laura

I am so excited to tell you about this cool baby and toddler toy! There are many different teething options out there for our sweet little ones, but this one takes the cake! Handmade, by a wonderful woman, they are top quality!

Starbright WAHMReviews 1

It all started when Suzi, the owner, received a similar giraffe as a gift for her baby. She was told that it had been made by her friend’s grandmother, who had since passed away. So many people loved it and wanted one for their own children that she decided to make her own pattern for this cute little giraffe. With a few changes, the Starbright Baby Giraffe was born!

Starbright WAHMReviews 2

Starbright Baby brings us a line of Teething Giraffes, Toddler Giraffes, Rhinos and much more! They are all handmade by a group of three women. They use very high quality materials that are completely safe for your baby.

The color/pattern choices available are simply amazing! There are so many choices that it’s hard to make a decision. That’s why I just told Suzi what colors my daughter liked and let her choose for me. She did a wonderful job! My daughter loved it and couldn’t wait to get her hands on her cute Toddler Giraffe! I haven’t been able to get my hands on it for more than a few seconds at a time, silly girl.

Starbright WAHMReviews 3

What I have been able to see is that it’s very durable. This adorable little giraffe goes everywhere with us and shoes no sign of all of its adventures yet. It’s still in the perfect condition that it was on day one! Pretty good for a toy that goes everywhere with a 3 year old!

If you are looking for that perfect, unique gift for an expectant mother, or that sweet little toddler you know, this is it!

You can find Starbright baby at starbrightbabytoys.com/ and on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/StarbrightBaby

HelloFlo

Ok-first off this is a LADIES only Review. Well…..unless you are a dad with daughters…then maybe you should check it out too.  HelloFlo is subscription type service for that wonderful time of the month that all ladies experience. They offer Care Packages, Monthly Plans, a blog full of advice and just about anything you could ask for to make your time of the month better.

HelloFlo

I contacted them to do a review for 2 reasons. One, I’m the mother of two girls. The oldest is 9 and I see her changing daily. The other is because my alter ego is a part time school nurse who teaches puberty classes to 5th grade girls. I explained my situation and asked what they thought would be best. The emailed me a file for use in my class and sent me a “Period Starter Kit” care package.

HelloFlo2

I must say, both as a nurse and a mom I was leery and a bit nervous about what I would get. What would they say? How would they explain things? Would I approve as a mom and as a nurse? Well…..I must say I was VERY impressed.
First, on the nurse side, the pdf they emailed me was wonderful. I’ve been using a video from a well-known feminine hygiene products manufacturer. It’s a good video, but it gets little interaction from the students and it’s a bit dated. The info they sent me is step by step instructions (even with time suggestions) on leading a discussion. None of the info was awkward. It was factual and easy. With kids this age everything is so sensitive. You want to make them aware, but not afraid. You want them to feel comfortable talking about things like puberty but in the right situations. I usually do my class in the spring and I can’t wait to use this info. I think it will help the students feel more comfortable with themselves, and with me.
Now on to the mom side….. The kit they sent had fun stuff and necessary stuff too. I showed it to my 9 yo and she was wowed! However, she was a little disappointed when I told her we were going to save even the fun stuff until she needed. That’s one of the great things about this kit. You get a good surprise something happy and fun and even though it’s little it’s just one of those things that will make a scary time a little bit better. The kit also had a letter for parents and kids. As a mom, I recommended reading both. That way you know what your daughter is reading and are aware of how to handle any questions she might have. I am a fairly conservative parent. So I didn’t want my kid learning anything from anyone else, that she should be learning from me.

The info they have for parents is comforting and spot on. It gives you suggestions and guides on how to talk to your daughter. I really can’t recommend this part of the product enough. Knowing that the info you are giving your child is honest and true and not something to be afraid of is a great comfort. No, they don’t give you a script to follow, but you certainly have a great idea of where to start and how things should go.
The info for girls is really amazing too. I felt comfortable letting my 9 yo read it, knowing she wasn’t getting too much info and she wasn’t getting too little either. I asked her how she felt after reading it. She said, well….it was sort of scary, weird and different. I didn’t get the feeling that she thought the info was scary but that the changes were. Which to be honest, they are. I still remember being terrified myself. However, with this info, it doesn’t have to be as scary. It’s very honest and factual and tries to help girls understand that it’s O.K to be scared, but this is a normal part of life and every woman goes through it.

Honestly, the first thing I did after I read the info was to text several of my friends and tell them they must check out this info for their daughters. It would be very helpful. When I talked to the principal of my school about changing what I use for my class she was very supportive and even suggested that in the info I send to parents I make sure I direct them to the HelloFlo site.
Thankfully this company offers more items than just that for young girls. Even though I didn’t get to review those products, I can honestly say that as impressed as I was with what I got, I’d definitely be willing to check out their other items.

Jamie’s Crafty by Nature – #Crafts #pottery #clay

WAHM Reviewer- Cecily Butler

Jamie’s Crafty by Nature
When I saw my high school friend had started her own business I was so excited. The pictures Jamie has posted on her Facebook page were amazing!! You can check them out for yourself at https://www.facebook.com/jamiescraftybynature
I contacted Jamie and asked if she’d like a review done on her products and she was super excited. She asked what I was interested in and we discussed a few things. Then I told her to surprise me. And Jamie did just that. She sent me the cutest little fairy candle holder.

I love it. Jamie’s use of clay to turn a simple glass container into something that looks like it belongs in a fairy garden amazes me. I love the intricate details. The lid looks like the top to a mushroom and the beautiful little gold heart on the door, wow!

Jamie's Crafts Jamie's Crafts 3Jamie's Crafts 2

Jamie even included a battery operated tea light. As much as I loved it, my girls (ages 9 and 6) loved it even more. They both love all things fairy. So it makes a perfect little night light in their room.
